Request for New Feature

I'm here active from 4 days ago. I decided to sell my item here. Umm, I did every research here I found many lack of feature which is needed..

1. Sale Counter

2. The item filters are the main problem its difficult to find the right product. Feature item should have some conditions. Like if it having one star in item or last updated 1 Years ago or more.

3. I saw many developers are here since 2014+ having 6+ items still they sold between 100$ to 500$ only (I saw all badges ).
There script are up to date with today. But its shows the sales are very low. Its not the problem of the script I tested there live preview.
Similar scripts I found in code canyon are having good sale. But In code canyon the script is 45$ and here is 30$ to 35$. Still they having good sales.

4. Looks like customers have trust issue here. And I found there are more developer compare to the customer. Kinda weird..

5. Now about social media . I checked all social media of codester. Looks like its stop advertising. YouTube having only one video. 9 years ago.
Twitter, fb and insta. There are no post about the new items or the updated items
There should be post when developer upload new item or they updated old one. I'm not saying to post every update to social media. choose 5 or 10 updates daily to post in social media will be good.

6. I also read the blog. They still 7 years old. All blog are good but you should change the publish date to latest. Its hurt when you find the blog is very old.

7. Buyer should get notification about latest update of their purchased item.

8. This platform needs to do advertising to public. Sadly I can't find any good. If seller can do advertise they would never upload their item here or in similar platform. If They can they just make their website and sell without any extra charges.

9. Like codecanyon they grow when their developer earn well so they can take the fee. So their advertising is better but its very hard to get approval their. There charges are not high but Their staff kinda weird. Rejecting most of the script saying not market fitted. Even the sellers sold more than 20+ copies without uploading To there platform. Funny..

10. Last not least. I also read many discussion in forum. Most about reverse charge back.

Thats it for now. I'm actually not active here 4 days ago. I was a buyer in 2019. I purchase one or two script here that time. But that account I lost it. So the item also... But never mind

Thank you for your thoughts. There is a lot points you come across.
I understand you did your own research and unfortunately a few conclusions which are questionable. For examples, sales, marketing etc. But the main point is spot on.

Now we have that out of the way, you have some very valid points, some are actually currently being explored. I am not going to go by them one by one, but work needs to be done to improve the marketplace as it is and this also includes extra marketing.

Sales are nearly the same this year, but we do see a market shift. Existing products getting less sales and newer products getting more and also some categories got less popular and others more popular. This can be alarming for existing authors as their sales go down.

I would like to thank you for this post as it has some good points. Comments are more then welcome.

Almost totally agree with you but there are a number of nuances

Codester really pays very little attention to the advertising this marketplace at the social media and not working on increasing the native (natural) traffic to the website (SEO, Blog's activity, Youtube activity and others),

But we, as the developers and sellers also have to help the Codester become more and more visible at the WWW
You compared Codester with the CodeCanyon, don't forget that CodeCanyon (branch of Envato group) had huge inversments and now has 500+ staff, Codester cannot boast of such indicators

So, as I told before we also should help if we want to sell more

What do I mean:
1) When customers contact me directly and ask to sell something on a personal basis, I try to encourage them to buy the software on Codester. I will loose some $ as a commission charge but will have better reputation and also I will bring new user to the Codester, may be he would buy here something else, I will get the affiliate commission also...
2) Necessarily sign up at the Codester as the affiliate and when place the links to your sofware somewhere, place it with the affiliate fragment
3) Most of the developers sell their themes/script/modules somewhere else ( CodeCanyon, ThemeForest, CodeGrape, particular CMS or Framework extensions marketplaces, like https://addons.prestashop.com/en/, https://www.opencart.com/index.php?route=marketplace/extension, https://commercemarketplace.adobe.com/extensions.html), you may contact another developers there and show them one more place where is possible to sell their items also, I mean Codester.com
4) As for the Blog: I have not found at least one article where the author is not Frederick, what is wrong?
I'm sure if someone create the article for Blog and send it to Frederick in private message, he would publish it...

But in general you are right: in order to buy something in a marketplace, you first need to find that marketplace

If at least every fifth seller at the Codester.com implement the above mentioned advices, Codester marketplace would be much more conspicuous and lively

Good points. I prefer Codester to other platforms. It's organised and have a focuse and with time we Authors will gain greatly in the future. Let's help to make this platform the best out there
