There is another flaw with it. There is no way to monetize this or limit the use of it, so your visitors can just pump the system with loads and loads of pics where they want to remove the backgrounds. This will make you poor very fast. Let's say that you have 10000 visitors to your site per month, each of them wants to remove backgrounds on 10 pics. This will cost you 10000 x 10 x $0.1 = $10,000 / month. The reality is that I think that most people wants to remove the backgrounds on more than 10 pics/month so I would not be surprised if you face bills for the usage of the API of up to $50,000/month just for using the API.
I hope that the vendor swaps out that API and goes for an open source project instead. There are several that are really good.
